Madagascar Private & Specialist Guiding
Most of the safaris we arrange in Madagascar are hosted by a private guide for at least part of the itinerary
A private guide in Madagascar will act as a driver between different regions and as a guide for general sight-seeing. The guide is important to the success of your safari because of how much time you spend with them, and it is also important that they can talk to you about their country and its wildlife and history. As you travel around the country however, you fill find that local wildlife viewing activities (usually walks) are led by specialist local guides.
There are also a small number of more exclusive safari options where you are will be able to ‘fly in’ and be hosted by resident guides. Key areas for this style of experience are Masoala, Mandrare, Manafiafy and Anjajavy. This model is more typical of mainland Africa and allows you to experience different parts of the country with different guides.
If you have special interests such as birding, please ensure you let us know so that we can arrange appropriate guides during your holiday.
