This itinerary combines an incredible big game safari in a private conservancy bordering Kenya’s famous Masai Mara with relaxing on the white sands and turquoise waters of Diani Beach, south of Mombasa. You will get to enjoy excellent game viewing on safari, as well as high levels of exclusivity being on a private conservancy. The safari camp featured offers comfortable tented accommodation in a superb location with warm friendly hosting and good guiding. The beach hotel is small, comfortable and in the heart of Diani on a beautiful beach, close to nearby restaurants.

ITINERARY DETAILS

Day 1-4: Offbeat Mara Camp – 4 nights
From Nairobi, take a scheduled light aircraft flight south-west to the Masai Mara. You’ll land within the exclusive Mara North Conservancy, where you are met by your guide from Offbeat Mara Camp and transferred across the plains, game viewing enroute, to arrive in camp in time for lunch. Your days at Offbeat Mara Camp are spent exploring the Mara North Conservancy, where the game viewing is simply amazing and, being a private conservancy, much more exclusive than the Masai Mara National Reserve. In addition to game drives, you can also enjoy guided bush walks, night drives and visit a traditional village.

Day 5-10: Waterlovers Beach Resort – 6 nights
Enjoy a final morning game drive before being transferred back to the local bush airstrip to connect with a scheduled light aircraft flight direct to the coast. Land at Diani Airport on the southern Kenya coast, where you will be met and transferred a short distance to the boutique Waterlovers Beach Resort. Your days are spent relaxing and indulging in beach life, enjoying fresh cuisine at their Tides restaurant overlooking the ocean or venturing further afield to nearby restaurants. Scuba diving, snorkelling, dhow trips, reef walks and various other local activities can all be arranged as required.

Day 11: End of Arrangements
The morning is at leisure on the beach. After an early lunch you will be transferred back to the local Diani Airport in order to connect with a scheduled light aircraft flight back to Nairobi.

INCLUDED
Accommodation on full board (Offbeat Mara) or half board (Waterlovers), house drinks, laundry, conservancy/park fees and guided game viewing activities at Kicheche Mara, internal light aircraft scheduled flights, road/airstrip transfers.

VARIATIONS AND EXTENSIONS
It is easy to add a third safari destination to this itinerary, or to broaden your Kenya experience by including some cultural or walking experiences. It is also easy to include a few days on the beach at the end, either on the Kenya coast or further afield in Zanzibar, Mauritius or Seychelles. WHEN TO TRAVEL
This itinerary is available year-round, though game viewing and weather conditions are likely to be best from June to October and from December through to March. Migration season in the Masai Mara is best from late July to early October. More information can be found on our Kenya When To Travel page. This itinerary starts and ends in Nairobi, which is serviced by a variety of major airlines. International flights are not included in the price guide.
