Mozambique Seasons & When to Travel
Mozambique experiences tends to experience most rain from November to March
The south of the country, including the Bazaruto Archipelago, is affected by the cyclone season in the Indian Ocean from late December to early April, and by the southern Africa winter from June to early August where daytime temperatures are unlikely to be higher than the mid-twenties. April, May, September, October and early November tend to be the best times to visit the south coast.
The north of country, especially from Pemba northwards, is rarely affected by the cyclone season, and temperatures also do not drop as much from June to August. This means the north can be visited year round, though least rain occurs from April through to November.
In general, whale-watching is best from August to November, whilst whale sharks and manta rays are more likely to be seen from November to March.
