Mozambique is most often visited as a beach extension to a safari holiday.
It does not really offer the more traditional, larger beach resort properties. However, families with older children in particular may consider Mozambique as a great destination to enjoy remote and exclusive beaches, cultural interaction and fantastic snorkelling and scuba diving.
In general, Mozambique presents a more African, more exclusive and more remote alternative to traditional beach venues such as Mauritius, however the higher quality properties also tend to be fairly expensive.
Families looking at Mozambique are most likely to be combining it with a wildlife safari, either in South Africa which is a natural option, or further afield in Botswana, Zambia or Zimbabwe. It is also possible to combine Kenya or Tanzania with Mozambique, though the travelling required is more complicated.
