Tanzania Honeymoons

Tanzania is a popular honeymoon destination as it can offer a combination of amazing game-viewing and beautiful beaches.

Iconic safari destinations in northern Tanzania such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater are obvious choices for big game safaris, whilst Selous and Ruaha in the south offer something a little more remote and wild. All safari regions can easily be combined with the coast, with excellent scheduled flight connections, making Tanzania the perfect ‘safari and beach’ destination. There are also some very affordable safari options and beach hotels, so Tanzania is able to offer a wide price range, though of course the higher quality options are still expensive.

In terms of accommodation, it is possible to stay at very luxurious lodges, though they are always very expensive. There are also a great many tented camp options in Tanzania. Tented safaris may require a more adventurous pioneering spirit, but the whole experience is so much more personal and intimate than you might experience in larger, seemingly more comfortable, lodges.

For the beach, the range of properties is huge, from 5 star luxury resorts to intimate beach lodges and mainstream hotels. Zanizbar is understandably the best known beach spot, but the other islands should not be discounted – Pemba, Mafia and idyllic Fanjove in particular. Please see our Zanzibar & The Coast page fo more information.

We have also arranged numerous romantic weddings in such iconic locations as the rolling plains of the Serengeti and the white sand beaches of Zanzibar. Your wedding can be tailored to suit your requirements – either with all the frills, or just romantic simplicity. There is a little more paper work involved and you will need a few days in Tanzania before the wedding, but overall, it is relatively straight forward. Obviously your wedding can be incorporated into a longer safari and beach itinerary.
