La Digue island

La Digue is the fourth largest island in Seychelles and offers several of the best beaches in Seychelles.

La Digue lies 6.5km due east of Praslin and is reached by ferry from Praslin or Mahe. The preferred form of transport for most tourists on the island is bicycle – there are very few cars on the island and it has a very relaxed vibe. It is home of the very rare Black Paradise flycatcher.

The best beaches are found on the south of the island, where small idyllic coves have formed between large granitic outcrops. Most easily accessible Anse Source D’argent is one of the most photographed beaches in the world, whilst if you make the effort to cycle down to Grande Anse, and then walk over the headland to Petite Anse (or further still to Anse Coco), you will be rewarded with utterly splendid and very exclusive beaches.
