NO. 1 FOR SAFARI IN THE SUNDAY TIMES TRAVEL MAGAZINE

“Why it’s top: The firm’s knowledge – of hundreds of camps in 12 countries – is extraordinary, gained through thousands of hours spent exploring the continent. Ask directors Michele and Rob where to see wild dogs, for example, and not only will they tell you the prime spots, but they’ll name the very best guides for the species”.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY ABOUT US

Hi Michele, another really wonderful trip and great contrast to the Pangolin one. Much more classic sightings, but the quality of the sighting was amazing!

Hello Rob, we would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone booking a trip to Africa. The next time we go, you will be the first company we go to

    October 2018

Dear Rob, the trip exceeded my expectations. Accommodation and food generally of a higher standard. I purposely did not do much research before going, so much of the trip was a wonderful surprise. Certainly has stimulated thoughts of visiting Africa again.

Susan from Worcestershire travelled to Namibia
    October 2019

The trip was absolutely perfect! NOTHING at all went wrong from the charter flights, to Covid tests. I’m so happy with how the trip turned out it was seriously so amazing. We had a great time! So thanks to you, and your team we so appreciate it. Again Frances thank you so much. This trip was amazing and of course when we can go back we will definitely use you again!

Giza, a melanistic leopard, is certainly stealing Giza, a melanistic leopard, is certainly stealing the show around Kenya’s Laikipia Wilderness Camp at the moment. Meaning ‘darkness’ in Swahili, Giza is one of several black leopards in the area and is providing sightings of a lifetime for those lucky enough to spot her. Our client Jenny Varley, currently staying at Laikipia Wilderness Camp, has been kind enough to share these magnificent images. Jenny first took images of a black leopard at Laikipia last year and we’re thrilled to see that this year’s return trip is proving just as extraordinary!

I have just returned from a long awaited return tr I have just returned from a long awaited return trip to Botswana, spending 10 days weaving my way back and forth across the Okavango Delta where I was reminded once again of how amazingly diverse this destination is. Open grasslands and beautiful woodlands can be explored by vehicle or on foot; whilst permanent water channels can be navigated by boat and mokoro. Accommodation styles are also wide-ranging, from adventurous mobile safaris to the most luxurious of camps.

I was travelling in the shoulder season when the grass is a bit too high for walking, but I was still able to enjoy game drives and boat cruises. The game viewing is a little more challenging at this time of year and the guides had to utilise their tracking skills which were rewarded by some excellent sightings including lion, leopard and wild dog. As the seasonal water holes in the woodlands begin to dry up, the big game is slowly returning to the open grasslands, and I was fortunate to spent time with a very relaxed breeding herd of elephants with lots of babies. I love being on the water and boat cruises are always a highlight for me. There is something so relaxing about exploring glistening water channels where shy sitatunga antelope reside, colourful birds flit between the reeds and elephants slosh in the shallows. Whether it be a morning cruise with breakfast on the go, or a gentle afternoon excursion with a cold drink in hand to watch the spectacular sunset, it is always magical.

Visiting Mabamba Swamp on the outskirts of Entebbe is very worthwhile in an afternoon. A known breeding group for 10-15 shoebill means you can have some mind blowing encounters such as this.
