At this time of year, as Spring has sprung and the days are warming up, we look forward to the arrival of a number of birds from their winter homes in Africa. House martins and swallows have arrived already, but I’ve not yet heard the cuckoo call. No doubt they’ll be home soon but one way to check is to follow the tracking devices used by the BTO (British Trust for Ornithology) on a number of birds.
