THUNDERING FALLS & BIG GAME
3 nights in Zambia on the Upper Zambezi near Victoria Falls followed by 6 nights of amazing wildlife experiences in Linyanti and the Okavango Delta.
The Zambezi River above Victoria Falls is wide and tranquil, and this itinerary starts with three days in Zambia exploring the Livingstone area, including the chance to witness the falls themselves. As you move into Botswana you then spend six nights in full big game mode, combining the remote Linyanti Region and the stunning Okavango Delta. Both regions are very exclusive and superb for big game sighting, while there is also time to explore the waterways of the magical delta.

ITINERARY DETAILS
Day 1-3: Waterberry Zambezi Lodge – 3 nights
On arrival into Livingstone, Zambia, you are met and transferred west to reach Waterberry Zambezi Lodge, set overlooking the wide Zambezi River. Across the river is the Zambezi National Park in Zimbabwe, home to a wide range of wildlife. Your time here can be spent relaxing, joining local guided activities and visiting the spectacular Victoria Falls. From July through to January it is usually possible to visit Livingstone Island, a small island in the middle of the falls where you can swim in Devil’s Pool, right on the lip of the falls! It is also possible to view the falls from the air, by helicopter or microlight. Beyond the falls themselves you can enjoy boat cruises on the Zambezi River, village and school visits, guided walks and horse riding. Please note some activities attract extra costs. Waterberry is very comfortable property with a relaxed, exclusive feel.
Day 4-6: Lagoon Camp – 3 nights
This morning you will be transferred across the border into Botswana, where you connect with a shared light aircraft transfer from Kasane Airport west over the vast Chobe National Park to the remote Linyanti Region. On landing into the private Kwando Concession you will transfer to Lagoon Camp, arriving in time for lunch. Your time at Lagoon Camp will focus heavily on game drives to see Africa’s big game, especially as the Kwando Concession is a stronghold for elephant, lion, leopard and wild dogs. Cheetah are occasionally seen. In between drives it is possible to take a relaxing boat cruise on the Kwando River. Lagoon Camp offers comfortable accommodation and friendly hospitality, but the real focus of this camp is the wildlife.
Day 7-9: Kwara – 3 nights
After your morning game drive you will connect with a shared light aircraft transfer south-west to the superb Kwara Concession on north-east edge of the Okavango Delta. Your days at Kwara will include morning and afternoon game drives seeking out Africa’s big game, whilst night drives, walking safaris, boat cruises and mekoro (dug-out canoe) excursions are all possible too. The Kwara concession is large with varied habitats, and all the main predators are found here. Water activities are also possible. Kwara Camp has gorgeous accommodation units which are spacious and private, though the real focus of the camp is on the game viewing experience.
Day 10: End of Arrangements
After your final morning activity, you will connect with a shared light aircraft flight to Maun.
