This itinerary combines two of Botswana best known and most reliable big game areas, both located within the Okavango Delta. Both concessions are private, ensuring an exclusive game viewing experience, and the two camps, run by Wilderness Safaris, offer a high level of comfort and hospitality. In addition to fantastic game viewing throughout this safari, the Vumbura Concession also offers a year-round wetland Okavango Delta experience.

ITINERARY DETAILS

Day 1-3: Wilderness Little Vumbura – 3 nights
From Maun you connect with a shared light aircraft transfer north over the heart of the Okavango Delta to reach the exclusive Vumbura (Kwedi) Concession. The flight itself will be incredible as you look down on the intricate patchwork of woodland, grassland, lagoons, rivers and swamps below, perhaps spotting elephant and buffalo herds in the wilderness. On arrival into the Vumbura concession you travel by jeep and then boat to reach Little Vumbura, a small and stylish camp located on a small island surrounded by wetlands. Your time here is spent on morning and afternoon game drives, seeking out the wide range of wildlife found here, including all the major predators. Night drives, boat cruises, mokoro (dug-out canoe) excursions and walking safaris are all possible too, as are scenic helicopter flights (at extra cost). Little Vumbura is an oasis of peace with extremely comfortable accommodation, excellent food and sophisticated hospitality.

Day 4-6: Wilderness Chitabe – 3 nights
After your morning activity you will connect with a shared light aircraft transfer south to the remarkable Chitabe Concession on the southern edge of the Okavango Delta. The game viewing in Chitabe is superb with all the major species present, except rhino. Night drives are also very productive, and walking safaris are available, though no water activities are offered. The focus here really is on the big game, especially as the Chitabe concession is one of the best spots in Botswana for predator viewing. Wilderness Chitabe is a very established and luxurious tented lodge offering excellent hospitality and a sophisticated big game experience.

Day 7: End of Arrangements
After your final morning activity, you will connect with a shared light aircraft flight to Maun.

Full board accommodation, house drinks, laundry, internal light aircraft shared flights, airstrip transfers, conservancy/park fees and guided game viewing activities.

VARIATIONS AND EXTENSIONS
It is easy to add further safari camps to this itinerary, perhaps from within the Linyanti or Kalahari regions. It is also very easy to include a visit to Victoria Falls or Cape Town before or after the safari. All our itineraries are tailor-made so please do not hesitate to ask us about any possible variations or extensions.

FLIGHTS AND ACCESS
This itinerary starts and ends in Maun, which can be accessed on daily scheduled flights from Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. International flights are not included in the price guide.
