Footsteps Camp is an exclusive walking camp in the lovely Shinde Concession in the north-eastern Okavango Delta.

Footsteps is a wonderful little camp with an exclusive and beautiful location and is one of the few permanent camps in Botswana which offers a more traditional bush experience without too much luxury! The camp itself is simple but perfectly comfortable with a small friendly team looking after you. It gets you close to nature with a mobile tented camp feeling, often with game strolling through camp. Led by an excellent guide and host, the main activity here is walking, though mekoro excursions are sometimes possible on the lagoon in front of camp. There is a vehicle on standby for transfers or occasional afternoon or night drives. If Footsteps is hired on an exclusive basis then activities can be more flexible, though walking should always be the key factor. The camp may also be offered as a private base for Ker and Downey’s excellent Young Explorers programme, a fantastic option for families with children aged 7 – 16 years. Footsteps offers great value for money, and so for anyone who enjoys walking and a slightly more adventurous bush experience, Footsteps is a real gem.
