Having specialised in travel to Africa since 1983, we are extremely proud and fortunate to have built up a wonderful customer base of repeat travellers, who also recommend our services to their friends, family and colleagues, or even fellow travellers they meet on safari. Our aim is for every holiday we arrange to be perfect for the people who undertake them. Listed below are some of the comments we have received from our customers. Please also visit the AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators) feedback site to see reviews on our services and our clients’ experiences.

Hi Michele, thank you for your letter. We did indeed have a wonderful holiday which more than lived up to our expectations, thank you. We saw everything we could have wished to, several times over. On our transfer drive into Amboseli we saw lions manoeuvring and feeding on a zebra; also there we saw a cheetah and her cubs eating a freshly killed gazelle. On a night drive in Laikipia we sat whilst 14 lions squabbled over a warthog carcass in the light of our headlights. In the Mara we saw a leopard holding fast to a young wildebeest’s throat as it died, and then watched her drag it into the undergrowth. As far as individual animal sightings go, we saw an aardwolf (Mara), a zorilla (Laikipia), a wild dog (Amboseli – our guide said it had been a year since he’d seen one); a bush baby (by the light of the camp fire in the Mara). Many thanks again from all of us for organising such an amazing holiday.

Hi Rob, I want to give you my overview of the experience we had as a first-timer to Africa over the last couple of days. We were met by Peter, our guide at Laikipia, and had a really nice introduction to game-driving in Africa just arriving in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. It was just nice seeing elephants, zebra’s, rhino’s…already arriving at the site. Of course, Sonja is a very warm person and made us feel ‘at home’ throughout the 3 night stay. She, Juma and the whole staff actually gave a very warm feeling at the camp. All too soon, we were expected back at the airstrip for our SafariLink connection to the Mara. James, our guide at Kicheche Bush, did what he had to do! Find game, be funny, show us around, nothing was too much. We have been so lucky with all the game we have seen! If somehow I can list up or show you what we saw…it is massive! But arriving at Mara House, even our guide James dropped his mouth seeing the new environment where we were going to stay for the remaining three nights. Mara house was wonderful! The water pool added to the house gives you the max. We saw elephants, baboons, gazelles, impalas, wildebeests, different birds, warthogs….it was fabulous. To make a perfect combination: put Mara House at the Bush site with the Laikipia staff and you have THE safari combination everyone will be looking for! (except for the guides where each one had his own expertise)

Hi Rob, we had the most fantastic holiday and saw far more than we ever imagined, including a large river crossing of wildebeest, so a very big thank you not only for your help in pointing us towards Kenya, but also the Kicheche camps. We couldn’t have been looked after better, everyone was so welcoming and their enthusiasm for the wildlife was clear to see. I am missing my early morning greeting with coffee and cookies! At the Valley Camp there was much excitement as our guide Mika – with us and another couple in the Landover! – located the female leopard and cubs which had been evading detection for a while. She has been visible (with binoculars) from our tent sitting on a large rock across the other side of the valley, what a treat.

Hi Rob, we arrived home safely from yet another great safari experience. You will be pleased to know that the game viewing was exceptional and the best we have ever seen in all of our trips. We saw what was the best migration for three years and watched ten thousand Wildebeest crossing the Mara river at a spectacular crossing point. We also saw our first ever successful Cheetah hunt along with wonderful sightings of Leopard, Lion and Rhino. Another good combination of areas, properties and fantastic guiding throughout. Mara House exceeded all expectations and we thought it was a perfect property to relax in at the end of our trip. Linda and I were so pleased that 16 years after our visit to the original Rekero cottages we were lucky to be re-united and guided by Fred, who was our guide then. We were also pleased to see Sonja again, who looked after us brilliantly. Thanks again for putting together another superb trip.

Hello Rob, we able to get within 25 yards of four of the big 5 (Leopard the exception none seen), and numerous other close encounters with antelope, hippo, hyena, warthog, the classics with Kitonga on Lewa Walking Wild being 1) tracking two male lion for best part two hours and then after it was clear to Kitonga they had split, he only peeked round a thicket to find one of them sunbathing his undercarriage about 15/20 yards away and it did not know we were there until his brother roared from 40/50 yards away and they both ran off, and 2) getting into a downwind position from a mother white rhino and her sub adult kids (3 years and 6 years per Kitonga) and they finally realised something was there when we were 15 yards apart. The mother for a minute or two continuously put one step forward and then back again as if she was indecisive whether to charge but clearly could not see what we were. Kitonga finally clicked his fingers and the rhino retreated 30 yards or so and then stared at us as if to think “what the hell was that”. Basically what I am saying is that I absolutely loved it and when mates who asked how much it cost I said it was well worth it. So many thanks Rob your message got through to Kenya loud and clear as to what I wanted and I got it!

Hi Mary, I have been meaning to email you sooner and thank you for booking us on such a special holiday, but life has been very busy since our return. The trip was perfect. Every detail worked out just right which made the holiday virtually stress free. Laikipia Wilderness was our favourite. Annabelle and Steve run such a wonderful camp. Really makes you feel like you are friends visiting their home rather than a paying guest. Kicheche Mara Camp was also very good, but didn’t have the personalised touch that Laikipia offered. We did however see some amazing wildlife in the Mara. It was a great suggestion that we pair up the two locations. My husband got the most beautiful shot of a leopard and her cubs. They didn’t come out much so we were very lucky. I have had several people ask me about how they go about booking a trip like this for themselves and when they are ready to move forward, I will be sure to send them your way. Definitely a trip of a lifetime for us. Thanks so much.

Dear Rob, thank you so much for organising what was a truly fantastic holiday. We have come back with so many great memories. As you told us at the outset, Zambia is a special place, the people are so friendly and the game viewing, particularly at South Luangwa, was amazing. We all had a wonderful break, made all the better by the lack of phone signal and wifi. All the lodges were great and the staff were almost without exception lovely and welcoming. We thought that Mwamba and Old Mondoro were really, really special places to stay. We also thoroughly enjoyed Kaingo and thought that Siankaba was a great spot from which to visit the Falls. The local people and the village there were so welcoming. Things that stood out a little more than all the other great things – The guiding at Kaingo and Mwamba – Sylvester was our guide and he was brilliant.  It was also really good to have the same guide through both camps, Mwamba – just being out in the bush miles from anywhere; a true wilderness, Old Mondoro – the setting on the river is really special, Canoeing The Discovery Channel at Old Mondoro and the boat ride down from Chiawa to Old Mondoro. Overall this was a really fantastic break.  You have 5 happy customers and we will undoubtedly return to Africa in the future with you.

Dear Rob, I just wanted to say a massive thanks for delivering a great holiday – you fulfilled my brief perfectly, and exceeded all our expectations. All arrangements, transfers and accommodation were like clockwork, no concerns at all. We liked that Elephant Plains and Muchenje arranged for us to have the same guides throughout our stay, as this greatly enhances the relationships and communication. Elephant Plains was a great location, great food & great staff. Morné Fouche our guide was very professional – we loved the drives and game walks with him. Over 3 days we saw 7 different leopard, 4 different rhino and a big herd of buffalo, 800-1000 strong which Morné managed to park just ahead of, then they flowed all around the vehicle for 20-30 mins as they passed, unforgettable. Muchenje – great atmosphere, felt like home from home, fantastic location on the escarpment overlooking the floodplain. We enjoyed the full day out with boat trip, picnic lunch then a game drive back along the Chobe waterfront, with hundreds of elephant, buffalo, zebra & sable. We got a fantastic front row view of a lion hunt by a pride of 10 lions. Waterberry Lodge was a great end to the holiday – fantastic location and good food. We enjoyed the sunset cruise, fishing, hippos on the lawn and bird watching. So relaxing to just chill on the banks of the Zambezi. The visit to the Falls was great. We have great photos and great memories – thank you. We now have lots of ideas for return trips, and will not hesitate to contact you.

Hello Frances, we all had an amazing time and were extremely impressed with the arrangements and accommodation you booked for us. Makanyane was the highlight of the trip but Babylonstoren was a real treat and we all enjoyed the warm hospitality and freedom of Jembisa. We hope to be back one day. Thanks again for all your help.

Hi Rob, we had a fantastic time – as a headline I would give Selinda a 5 out of 5 rating. Beautiful camp and experience enhanced by the boat ride from the boat station to camp past the hippos etc. Felt very close indeed to the wildlife – had baboons, elephants and hippos in/very close to camp. On the last morning we were sat having breakfast round the fire when a kudu crashed through 3 yards from us pursued by a pack of 16 wild dogs!! We saw the dogs twice, lions 4 times, leopard and lost count of the number of elephants. Guide OB was fantastic – very experienced. At Shinde our guide Bee was again very experienced and very good. Lovely Independence Day celebrations – staff charming and tried super hard. We did the mekoro excursions – a great experience. All the arrangements were superb. Everything worked incredibly well for which we thank you. Also, it was meant to be a real lifetime experience for Greg and it certainly was!!!! Already started thinking about next time – I’d love Botswana and Namibia together. Many many thanks for all the help you’ve given. I’m not pleased to be home though!!!!!
