Testimonials

Having specialised in travel to Africa since 1983, we are extremely proud and fortunate to have built up a wonderful customer base of repeat travellers, who also recommend our services to their friends, family and colleagues, or even fellow travellers they meet on safari. Our aim is for every holiday we arrange to be perfect for the people who undertake them. Listed below are some of the comments we have received from our customers. Please also visit the AITO (Association of Independent Tour Operators) feedback site to see reviews on our services and our clients’ experiences.

Dear Frances, we would like to say a personal thank you for all your guidance.  As you know this was a trip of a lifetime, it took us out of our comfort zone, if not for your calm nature and helpful knowledge of all the countries we wanted to visit (Victoria Falls, safari in the Masai Mara in a tent and snorkelling in Zanzibar), your understanding and relaying our requests to all hotels and camps regarding Nicola’s dietary needs took all the worry away, thank you. We would be happy to recommend Safari Consultants who organised our perfect holiday (3 Countries, 9 Flights, 8 transfers perfect) we couldn’t have been more happy. I feel going on safari should be introduced into the modern day 7 Wonders of the World. Everyone we came in contact with on our travels recommended by Safari Consultants were polite punctual and knowledgeable. Once again thank you for a perfect holiday, we have some lovely photos/videos and many treasured memories.

Dear Frances, we want to start by saying that we had the most amazing trip – we don’t make wish lists (“if you want to guarantee what you see, go to the zoo”), but we saw everything we could have hoped for and so much more, both in the variety of wildlife and animal behaviour. To summarize for all three camps, they provided really good accommodation, very good food and friendly, efficient staff. This trip reinforced the importance to us of (i) staying on conservancies and (ii) having our own guide/vehicle. Above all, the standard of guiding and understanding of the requirements for wildlife photographers was impressive. We didn’t see the need to go into the national reserve, as there was so much going on within the conservancies. An amazing trip which we both enjoyed enormously, and we now have to wade through all the photos (Sandra – 2,618 Ken over 4,000). Many thanks for booking us exactly what we asked for and for the additions you made (like booking us a hotel within the confines of Nairobi airport for our return). If you want us to sum the trip up in one word, it’s got to be that word again – WOW!!.

Rob, thanks for your Welcome Home note. Overall, it was an excellent trip. La Plume and Savanna were the stand-out stars without question. And if we chose one of those 2, then clearly Savanna would be the absolute best. Janice wrote in the book that we arrived as clients and left as friends. Quite brilliant. All the best and thanks for fixing what was, and always will be, a memorable trip.

Dear Rob, it was a wonderful trip and we were so lucky with game – five leopards on one night drive seems to have been an Amanzi record! I also saw my second Pel’s Fishing owl after 16 years waiting. Amanzi Camp was Excellent. Wonderful location, spacious and comfortable accommodation, very good food and service throughout the camp. Patrick our guide was superb. He had an uncanny knack of always knowing exactly where the leopard would be. Bilimungwe – Excellent. Much more rustic, spacious and comfortable accommodation with the added benefit of an outdoor shower. Alex the camp manager was terrific. Our guide Charles was extremely good and it was only on the last night that I realised he had been our guide for the few days we spent in the Luangwa on an Art Safari trip in 2008. Kaingo Camp was excellent in so many ways, with amazing food a great ambiance and the hides. The landscape was extraordinary and the leadwood forest utterly beautiful. There was plentiful game and it was a special privilege to walk with Derek Shenton. Thanks again for organising such a fantastic trip to Zambia, which I enjoyed so very much. Every day was amazing with excellent guides and unbelievable game.

Dear Mary, we’d like to say a big thank you for putting together such a great safari trip for us. We had an excellent time. All the camps were first class but diverse and we had really good guides. Thanks once again

Mary, we got back to the UK this morning. As you would probably expect, we all had a wonderful time. My brother Bill and his wife Erica were blown away by the whole experience. Once again our service from Safari Consultants (and from you in particular) was top class throughout. Thank you!

Rob, I know we have spoken on the phone since we returned from Africa but it would be remiss of me not to write and thank you. I asked when we were planning this trip that I wanted an adventure and to create memories for my family and in particular my children. You did this and beyond, we have all loved it and the brief has been fulfilled and more. All 3 camps you chose were superb in their own individual ways and gave us such pleasure. The activities you recommended were brilliant with particular mention for Devils pool and the sleep out platform. We loved all the camps but particular mention for Kanana and in particular our guide Robbie who went above and beyond for our children and not only gave them a fabulous safari but nothing was too much trouble to make sure they had a great time. Rob thank you very much, you understood my brief 100%. Please keep in touch and I will start saving our pennies for next time.

Hello Mary, very happy to report we had a fantastic time. The safari camps far exceeded our expectations, especially the two Serian camps, Nkorombo and Ngare. Selous Impala Camp was wonderful. A special mention of Gerard, our guide. Very knowledgeable, and nothing was too difficult for him. When we go back, we’ll be requesting his services once more. All the camps did amazingly well with Julie’s dietary requirements. We couldn’t have been happier. Everything ran like clockwork. Thank you so much for all your hard work organising it for us. We’re already saving our money for the next one

Dear Mary, my apologies for delay but I started this a few days after we returned and then life took over!! We are all agreed that it was the most fantastic holiday. Emma thoroughly enjoyed her first Safari and loved Fanjove. Sitting in the co-pilots seat on the Ruaha-Selous leg was a first for her too! So … thank you very much for organising such a wonderful holiday for us all. We probably won’t be visiting Africa in 2018 but you never know and we will be sure to contact you for any future Africa trips [Namibia very high on the list].

Mary, we will send you more details in a few days, but want you to know right away that everything was perfect. The camps were fun and interesting, especially Kuyenda! The staff were great. But our guide . . . we thought Frank at SGS Africa was wonderful . . . but young Suzyo tops him, hands down. It was an incredible week. Thank you so much. (We keep saying after each trip that this will be the last. But you never know?)
