Hi Frances, it was an amazing trip, a unique experience that I will remember for life. Thank you for the professionalism, effort and care you put on organising our safari. Looking forward to visiting Africa again.
Dimitris and friends from London travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana
Hi Frances, we are now back (only in body, not in soul) and we'd like to thank you for the loving care and effort you put into organising our trip. We all had the time of our lives! The animals, the sunsets, the warm people who looked after us, the landscapes and the adventures that took all of us in one way or another our of our comfort zones, will stay with us forever.
Elina and friends from London travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana
Hi Michele, Overall a great experience and we loved it. Our highlights included 18 Roan come down to drink what a show it was. Although there were other trucks form the camp it never felt crowded and with all those eyes on the lookout there was plenty of information being passed to and fro to everyone's benefit. It was a very good choice on your part. Davisons was also fantastic. The best sightings we had were near the Makalolo water hole. 2-300 Buffalo drinking, other sightings were16 Giraffe and Lion Cubs with Mum. We also had a Cheetah sighting on two days which was unexpected and very special. Kanga was a very nice camp with great staff. The morning after we arrived, we just stayed in camp and watched the wildlife come to the pan to drink – it was great viewing! The highlight of Mana Pools was definitely the walking and being able to track wild dogs on foot and photograph them at close quarters! Thank you as always for all your hard work. It was much appreciated. We thought about you often wondering how you were whilst we enjoyed your homeland.
Gerry and Sarah from Buckinghamshire travelled to Zimbabwe
Dear Frances, what an incredible trip! Thank you so much with helping us put together this trip of a lifetime. We will definitely be keeping another safari trip in mind for a future trip! Thank you again!
Cindy and Spencer from Connecticut travelled to Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa
Hi Michele, I wanted you to know that the trip was fabulous and has now replaced Peru as my favourite trip. You guys clearly know what you are doing. Several people even mentioned what a good variety of locations we were seeing. At Selinda, we loved the variety of topography. Saw so much, including two wild dog kills in one day. Lots of people never see one. Gruesome, but incredibly interesting. Loved the camp, the people, the food, the personal hospitality. At Shinde the landscape was wetter and interesting, the food was good and staff very nice. Camp Kalahari we saw some great birds and new animals especially at night and we enjoyed the meerkats. Drinks, dinner and sleeping on the pans was magical.

Hi Rob, Chobe Princess - Fantastic start. Total unwind from first few minutes on board. Mwamba - Excellent camp. First rate guide. Marvellous wildlife. Tafika - Bush walking was great. Guides very knowledgeable. Old Mondoro - Great Camp. Water activities a real plus, and good to wash out all that dust at the end. Thanks again. A wonderful trip and just the right mix of experiences.
Lloyd and Jacqueline from Cambridgeshire travelled to Namibia, Zimbabwe & Zambia
Dear Rob, we had a fantastic time, all the arrangements worked smoothly and we had some spectacular game sightings. A big thank you for your advice and organisation.
Glenn and Christine from Gloucestershire travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana
Hello Rob, we had the "trip of a lifetime" ! Skeleton Coast Safaris were the best. Andre was our pilot, and his son Kyle came too. We had the plane to ourselves as no-one else came with us. They also gave us a tent each at their camps which made all the difference. Our driver - Binius - at Ongava was excellent - to be recommended. Victoria Falls Hotel is a must! So unspoilt.
Rosemary from Berkshire travelled to Namibia and Zimbabwe
Hi Michele, we're back and the choice is between sorting out the suitcases or going back over the details of a really stunning holiday, I've chosen the latter! Thanks for organising everything, we really appreciate the thought you put into the planning. We weren't on the go every hour of every day, but we enjoyed a few half days just soaking up the view and atmosphere.
Ray and Janet from Buckinghamshire travelled to Namibia and Zimbabwe
Hi Rob, the safari camp was awesome - far better than I expected. The staff were amazing and the food was fantastic and they made us feel really welcome. Our guide (Mike) was very knowledgeable and a genuine nice guy. Super pleased with the service you delivered - can’t fault it! Will certainly recommend you to anyone who is in earshot.
Harvey and Helen from Suffolk travelled to Zimbabwe
Hi Frances, got back from Africa this morning and thought I’d drop you a quick email to say thanks for putting it together. Everything worked perfectly and we had an amazing time. nThambo was great with us seeing all the “big 5” plus many other things. Bayete was a great base from which to see Vic Falls and was very pleasant. The surprise for me was Imbabala. When you sent me the itinerary I thought Imbabala might be the weakest of the locations offering not that much and was worried the kids might be bored. I couldn’t have been more wrong. We were all blown away by the place and thought it was fantastic with some great activity options and so relaxing. The staff were amazing too. I would have no hesitation recommending your services to anyone and would also recommend highly all three locations you booked for us.
James, Sian, Richard and Tia from Wales travelled to Zimbabwe and South Africa
Hi Michele, “Wow”, what a trip, thank you so much for putting together the African experience of a lifetime for Judith and I. Vundu Camp was fantastic, the rooms were perfect and the food excellent. What sets Vundu Camp apart from other camps that we have visited is the quality of the Zimbabwean Guides. Nick and Alex took us on an unforgettable adventure. We tracked wild dogs, lions and leopards. We walked in closely and quietly to the wild dogs den and watched spellbound as the hunting pack came back and fed the twelve pups. We walked with huge male elephants as they stood almost on their hind legs eating from the trees. We saw female leopards fighting over a kill and the dogs hunting anything they could see. All our questions were met with incredible knowledge and a passion that was clear to see. Sad though we were to leave Vundu, Hwange proved every bit as exciting. We continued to walk on every occasion that we could, tracking lions, dogs and leopards. We can only say that anyone with an ounce of adventure needs to go on safari in Zimbabwe. The guys running the camps need all the support that they can get from tourism to keep up the standards that they have set for themselves. In addition, they also assist, at no little expense to themselves, with the massive anti-poaching effort that is continuing in Zimbabwe. More importantly they are winning. We can’t wait to get back there and in the meantime, will recommend these camps to our wildlife loving, adventurous friends. Thank you so much
Steve and Judith from Shrewsbury travelled to Zimbabwe
Dear Rob, overall the experience was amazing. The conditions for travelling around were brilliant. Roads v good. And country very safe, people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The tourism infrastructure is good. Matobo Hills was fabulous and well worth a visit. And the caves with ancient paintings were wonderful. Hwange, Davison’s Camp – faultless. We were met by a wonderful guide and had the most fabulous picnic lunch on the way down to Davisons. The catering was outstanding – every single touch from sherry on arrival, to fabulous afternoon tea, wonderful brunch, brilliant early morning breakfast by the camp fire and excellent dinners and sundowners. We saw loads of animals including the cheetah. It was really wonderful and incredibly beautiful. I can thoroughly recommend Zim. A wonderful country and people with good infrastructure and has the advantage of not being overrun by tourists.
Nicole and Guy from Essex travelled to Zimbabwe
Rob, you have just got to promote this destination more. The country, its people, birdlife, wildlife and culture were just fantastic. Everyone was so friendly. Save Valley Conservancy was fascinating - spent a morning game drive with people from the wild dog research project and enjoyed great views of wild dog. Amalinda was wonderful - tucked away into the granite outcrops. Stunning location and we saw white rhino and Cecil Rhodes' final resting place. Somalisa was stunning and contemporary. Hundreds of elephant virtually all the time drinking in the water hole and trough just yards away. Camp Hwange - just mind-boggling. We spent time with the Lion Research Project team that oversaw Cecil. Julian was a fantastic host. We also saw leopard and clocked up our 300th different bird specie on our last morning in camp! All in all, an amazing trip - with a mix of culture, birding, wildlife, scenery, and fascinating conversations over dinner tables. I have become a Zimbabwe ambassador - the country needs more tourists to go and see what it has to offer away from Mana and the usual travel hotspots. This is a travel circuit that could well prove of interest to experienced African travellers who are not simply interested in wildlife watching. We loved the changing scenery, terrain, climate, culture, flora and fauna. To rack up 300 birds over the duration of the trip was brilliant including lots of 'lifers'. As you can probably tell - we had a great time. Thanks again for making it possible.
Peter and Anne from Cambridge travelled to Zimbabwe
The whole trip was seamless, as expected. The camps, people and game viewing were brilliant, as good as anyone could expect. Thank you for organising such a great trip.
Richard and Christine from Preston travelled to Zimbabwe
Hello Mary, overall...a great, most enjoyable & successful trip. Arrangements all immaculate with excellent rooms/ guides allocated. Thank you! Highlights...29 leopards in about 22 sightings including family with kill, 2 very close encounters which had adrenalin going and 1 who ran hard at us and we thought he may jump in! Some excellent photos and some of the most memorable encounters with leopards, lions and elephants we have experienced in 20 years+ of safaris. Kuyenda - Excellent! Best camp, best guide/armed ranger (Kelvin & Isaiah), best food and outstanding hosting from Babette & Phil. Attention to detail and simple bush style memorable. Old Mondoro – Great camp and friendly hosts Dave & Tess. Chiawa - Some great spots and encounters. Ruckomechi - Lovely room & setting. Kango - Really good camp, friendly welcome and staff. Good guide Bono who got us so close to pack of 28 Wild Dog under trees. Victoria Falls Hotel - Wonderful and loved our stay! Very attentive staff with some real stars. Very pleased with all your arrangements!
Geoffrey and Teresa from Oxfordshire travelled to Zambia and Zimbabwe
We would like to thank you so much, especially Michele for all your advice and help. The arrangements were not the most straightforward but you had carried them out so that everything ran seamlessly. I did not want to return to the UK and can’t wait for our next visit. I will be starting to plan again with Michele as soon as I finish the laundry!! Thank you so much.
Christopher and Rosemary from Wiltshire travelled to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia
Hi Rob, just want to say thank you for helping to organise Alisha and my trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. I must say I was a little hesitant that the trip may not live up to the memories of our Kenyan trip in 2013. Well I am happy to say that whilst this trip was different (which is what you want) it was every bit as wonderful. Umkumbe - our guide, Mauritz, was excellent and whilst animal sightings were hard to find he put in an almighty effort. Accommodation and food were great. At Ilala Lodge in Victoria Falls the elephant back safari was brilliant and helicopter flight over the falls – spectacular. Finished the day with a relaxing sunset river cruise and some good animal sightings along the shore. The lodge and staff were terrific. Camp Hwange - from the minute we were picked up at the gate we knew this was going to be a great few days. Our guide Quinn was brilliant, the other staff at camp were lovely too. The food and accommodation fantastic. Really enjoyed the walking - walking up to the bull elephant was a little scary but thrilling at the same time. The birds were amazing especially the martial eagle with its genet kill. Our final morning was particularly memorable as we were woken by the male lions roaring quite close to camp and were able to catch up with them and the lionesses and cubs. Then on our drive back to the gate we came across a large pride of lionesses and their cubs (12 or more). Thanks again for all your help and advice. This trip has once again left us wanting more and I hope to be organising another adventure in the not too distant future. Botswana here we come!
Virginia and Alisha from Australia travelled to South Africa and Zimbabwe
Dear Michele, we flew in safely on Thursday afternoon having had the most wonderful holiday in Zimbabwe. Everything that you fixed for us worked like clockwork and we are extremely grateful to you for all the planning and organisation you put into it. We found the Victoria Falls Hotel beautifully refurbished with the staff as charming and helpful as usual. Thank you for getting us a room overlooking the falls. The food was excellent and we loved our 2 days. I did put one small point on the questionnaire you sent us stating that the street vendors at The Falls were a bit of a nuisance and wouldn't take no for an answer but on the other hand we appreciate they are unemployed and desperate for money. Camp Hwange was fantastic, the camp was perfect and in a great position. The staff were charming and helpful and the food was excellent. The guiding was exceptional; we had 2 guides Quinn being the senior and Stephen as a second. We walked everyday and did drives too and they did their best to show us as much game as they could. Quinn's knowledge of the bush and animals was very impressive. Bearing in mind it was early in the season, the grass was still tall, there was a lot of water about due to late rains and the foliage was still on the trees we did extremely well and our last afternoon was memorably spent next to a lion with 2 lionesses and 2 cubs next to their kill - what more can you ask for! As you know we also spent 4 nights on a very smart houseboat on Kariba with friends which was great but fishing for bream not so good! Two nights at Inn on Rupurara at Inyanga was excellent too and I would highly recommend it. Thank you so much for all your organisation, it worked like clockwork and our holiday exceeded our expectations by a long way. We found most people we talked to in Zimbabwe reasonably optimistic and both Vic Falls and Camp Hwange were doing well with visitors from all over the world, but not many British I'm sad to say.
Clinton and Suzi from Winchester travelled to Zimbabwe
Hi Rob, thanks for organizing a great trip. Selinda Camp was amazing! Food was probably the best we have had from all the camps we stayed and the guides are good. Victoria Falls was spectacular. Thanks again!
Tommy and Annie from Singapore travelled to Botswana and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Hi Rob, We had a superb holiday, thank you. We're glad we started with Victoria Falls as were a bit tired at the end of the holiday and the low water did enable is to get a better view. We managed to see leopards for the first time, we witnessed a lion kill and we managed to catch roan, sable, genet, civet and a host of birds too numerous to mention. The guides were excellent at all of the camps and the camp crew / support staff were all good and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was very good in all the camps and the rooms were fine - we wish all tents were as luxurious. Would we go on this type of trip again. Yes. Would we consider using Safari Consultants? Yes.
Graham and Angela from Surrey travelled to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and Botswana
Hello Rob, the post holiday blues will never go away after a holiday like this, it is a case of learning to deal with them. When I had experiences like a pack of wild dog looking at us from 40 yards away, getting to about 10 yards downwind from a bull elephant who knew we were there but could not make out what we were, sitting with James (guide) watching hyena go past us in an open area about 30 yards away wondering what we were (judging by the way they were looking at us), I cannot wait until the next visit.
Graham from Chelmsford went walking in Mana Pools and Hwange National Parks, Zimbabwe
Dear Rob, I am writing to say thank-you for organising a wonderful safari, it lived up to our expectations and we all had a lovely time. All the accommodation was very comfortable, excellent and very tasty food. We all enjoyed the true wilderness experience and diversity of the landscape and appreciate that you did ensure we saw different areas so thank-you. The smells and sounds of Africa are of course one of the best bits and I loved the bee eaters which I have never seen before. We do feel we have had a very special holiday so thank-you for all your organisation.
Adrian and Sally travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana
Dear Rob, I just wanted to thank you for organising such a wonderful safari. It all went like clockwork with no hitches. We were warmly welcomed where ever we went and the staff and guides were excellent, cheerful, friendly and helpful. The lodges were luxurious! The sundowners were special in that our guides chose beautiful places for us to get out of the vehicle, the surrounding bushes inspected for any nasty surprises and we enjoyed watching the sun go down with the different reflections and light that seems to only happen in Africa. Every lodge was different in different terrain and we saw lots of lovely birds and animals and were able to get close to many of them. We enjoyed the walks, Mokoro and boat trips. Lots of new experiences and it was a very happy family holiday. Thank you very much for choosing such lovely places to visit. Well done Rob, you did us proud.
Rosemary and family from Yorkshire travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana
Dear Rob - We want to say thank you so much for all you did to make our trip such a success! Each time I share and reflect on our many adventures, I appreciate more and more the many amazing people, animals, landscapes, skies and African wonders we encountered. Thank you again, and if our travel adventures lead us to spend more time in Africa, you and your company will be the first to know!
Robin and Will from Virginia, USA, travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana
Hi Rob. We had an absolutely amazing time. “This is the best yet!” was spoken every day, right up to departure. I think I can speak for everyone in saying this was the best trip of our lifetimes. We are so grateful for the care you put into setting up this trip - it was beyond fabulous!!
Joni and Matthew from Colorado, USA, travelled to Zimbabwe and Botswana
Hi Michele, the holiday was great, mana pools is such a beautiful place. Lots of game and I finally saw leopard up close. The wild dogs were unique I saw two packs at Kanga and Ruchomechi. Both camps were excellent great food and accommodation. Ruchomechi was busy with not enough jeeps , particularly if you wanted to go out with just your own party. Guides were excellent, beautiful setting. Kanga great camp, food and tents great - had the honeymoon suite fab. The guides weren't as experienced. Zimbabwe is fast becoming my favourite African country. Thank you for all your help.
Sinead from County Mayo, Ireland travelled to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe
Hi Bill, I have just got to congratulate you and your team on your attention to detail, presentation, and an over all totally professional job.
Neil is a travel agent that worked with us on a safari for his clients
Rob, we’re back after a fantastic three weeks in Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Arrangements went like clockwork; transfers were spot on; guides and accommodation were great and we had some amazing experiences. Thank you so much for your attention to detail; your knowledge and willingness to work with Rob Janisch to make it all come together. We remain great ambassadors for Safari Consultants and passed on your details to most people we met! Zimbabwe really captured our hearts. Great people; wonderful wildlife; and amazing scenery. Craig Van Zyl was great and the wildlife at Mana Pools was fantastic. The food/camp/hosting was superb. Must enlarge on our Mana experiences when we see you. Lots to tell!!!!! The Vumba was a terrific idea – and Rob Janisch proved a great host up in the mountains. I think the area could form a great bridge between Mana Pools and Mozambique. Explore Gorongosa was brilliant – Rob hosted us personally all the time and to be honest, made us feel like one of the family. You just know we’ll be talking to you before long about our next African adventure. Thank you once again.
Peter, Anne and Joe travelled to Zimbabwe and Mozambique
I cannot express my enjoyment of the trip to the full extent!! Jonny gave us exceptional advice and support and everything provided prior to the trip was detailed and relevant. We would do the whole thing again….tomorrow!! A fantastic experience which outstripped the expectations and this was largely due to the organization and professionalism of staff.
Clive, Jan & Harry travelled to Zimbabwe
Hi Rob, it was a wonderful adventure holiday in every way. We were so lucky with the Skeleton Coast Safari and Andre Schoeman who was a fantastic guide and told us so much of the country and its people, etc. We were the only two on board the Cessna apart from pilot Andre and his son who was almost a pilot! We had tents to ourselves at the camps so room to spread our bits and pieces and we were looked after royally. The final stop at Victoria Falls was a delightful end and seeing the Falls at close proximity made it much more realistic. We had a 13 minute helicopter flight which was incredible. We saw many animals particularly at Ongava and Etosha - all making it a memorable holiday. Hope we will be doing another with you before too long!
