Dear Rob, we had an amazing trip and we fell in love with Zambia. I think the highlights were Old Mondoro Camp – every day we had elephant overload – it was amazing. The varied activities were also a plus. We loved Kaingo camp – the camp managers were really great and the food was superb! Lastly, we loved ending at Tongabezi. Thanks for all of your help on planning this and you did a fabulous job on recommending the camps.
Joy, Warren, Leonard & Elizabeth from America travelled to Zambia
Dear Michele, we had a fantastic time. The staff at Nottens Bush Camp and Waterberry were fab. Special mention to Gift at Nottens. Thank you for an excellent holiday.
Timothy, Elizabeth, Lucy and Maxwell from Surrey travelled to South Africa and Zambia
Hi Rob, Chobe Princess - Fantastic start. Total unwind from first few minutes on board. Mwamba - Excellent camp. First rate guide. Marvellous wildlife. Tafika - Bush walking was great. Guides very knowledgeable. Old Mondoro - Great Camp. Water activities a real plus, and good to wash out all that dust at the end. Thanks again. A wonderful trip and just the right mix of experiences.
Lloyd and Jacqueline from Cambridgeshire travelled to Namibia, Zimbabwe & Zambia
Hi Rob, Tafika - it really is a lovely camp with nice friendly people and atmosphere, the food was excellent as well. A couple of nice Leopard sightings, on daytime in a tree and one night time under spotlight. Kaingo - we were lucky to be assigned Patrick (again) as a guide - he is very good, knows the area and the animals like the back of his hand and being interested in photography himself, was good at placement of the vehicle on sightings. Game viewing was excellent, Leopards galore and good sightings of everything else. Remote Africa Air's direct transfer down to Lower Zambezi was fantastic, we met quite a few people who had spent a whole day travelling between the two areas and they were gutted they couldn't/didn't do what we did, and when you look at it we definitely did it right compared to theirs, so thanks for hat - worked out really well. Amanzi - provided the perfect wind down at the end of the holiday for us. Lovely appointed camp, really nice and very quiet and relaxed, again lovely food and we were well looked after. All in all another great trip. We saw lots of great wildlife, met some lovely people, were looked after really well wherever we went.
Kevin and Lynne from Kent returned to Zambia
Dear Michele, everything ran very smoothly, all flights, meet and greets, and camps were ready. We enjoyed our 50th and 18th birthday and 25th wedding anniversary at all camps - we had bubbly and cake! The trip was well planned with a chance to relax more and go at a slower pace at our last camp. This was even better as we were the only ones in camp for 3 nights! It was great to be able to go on the river to have a bit more variety. We had a great time and saw good game - including a close encounter with a hippo! and 9 week old lion cubs. Thank You.
David, Bernadette and Luke from Suffolk travelled to Zambia
Hi Michele, we're back in Hong Kong now and trying to get over jetlag. The trip was amazing, thank you so much for everything. The overall organisation, transfers, quality of camps, etc. were flawless. We're really lucky as we get to travel frequently, but this was our first trip to Africa and it didn't disappoint. It was also great to meet the two Safari Consultants ladies at Kanana. We will definitely use Safari Consultants again and I'm already working on Tim for the next trip!
Tim and Claire from Hong Kong travelled to Botswana and Victoria Falls
Hi Rob, may I thank you and the team, but you especially, for putting together such an excellent trip. It met, indeed it exceeded, all our expectations. Quite when we do the next one, I know not; perhaps not for a year or two but another we shall do and through you.
Christopher and Penny from Hope Valley travelled to Zambia and Namibia
An excellent trip, great lodges, great animal viewing, great people, but just not long enough! We will be back.
Jane, Martyn and Cara from Leicester travelled to Zambia and Botswana
Dear Michele, our trip to South Luangwa National Park was hugely enjoyable and eventful; the season is considered to be two months ahead of what it should be with low waters levels in the rivers and some concern for later in the year. There was abundant wildlife with excellent sightings - in particular a leopard taking a live impala up a tree chased by 3 hyena, at least 182 crocodiles (I stopped counting) feeding on a dead hippo and (the highlight of the trip for me!) 32 ellies crossing the river. Many thanks for recommending Kaingo; it's everything a safari camp should be.
Richard and Jackie from London travelled to Zambia
Hello Frances, we had a truly memorable trip which worked seamlessly thanks to you! Thanks again for all your help in making our first trip to Africa unforgettable.
Mark and Sue from London travelled to South Africa and Zambia
We had an amazing time and fell in love with Zambia! Mwamba was a very good camp in a great location. The hides were a great bonus. The sleep out was fantastic and although we didn't see any game, it was wonderful being out in the open (and cooler) air under the stars, watching the moon go down! Robin Pope bush camping was such a wonderful experience. The guide Kanga was excellent, the best during the trip. Tafika was a nice spacious camp, good game viewing with lions, leopard and her cub. At Chikoko we saw a rare sighting of Pels fishing owl and had a herd of wildebeest approach us whilst we were sat having a bush tea. Crocodile Camp was a great location with the watering hole in front of camp and our room, which made us feel like we had our own hide. Old Mondoro was a blessing after the heat and dryness of the valley - the accommodation was beautiful and felt like a lovely treat after being in the bush! The boat trips were amazing and on our last night we saw the first baby Impala of the season.
Caron and Steve from London travelled to Zambia
The trip surpassed all my expectations and has provided me with some magical memories. The camps were exceptional and I can honestly say I have never been so well cared for. Special recommendations must go to Sonia and her team at Laikipia. Both guides: Onesmus and Mika, both of whom were extraordinary and without exception, all the staff at Siankaba. A huge thank you to all of them. This was a truly wonderful, one might almost say life changing trip and one that I shall never forget. Overall, I must send a personal note of thanks to Michele who orchestrated the whole affair with care and efficiency. I shall rave about Safari Consultants to my friends until I am in danger of boring them silly! With grateful thanks.
Mary from Hampshire travelled with friends to Kenya and Zambia
Hello Rob, the logistics all worked well and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip: without doubt the best so far. Kaingo was excellent and we would be happy to return. Patrick, our guide, was excellent; knowledgeable about wildlife and photography, a very able driver, excellent language skills – almost the perfect guide. The driving area was a beautiful mix of open plains, woodland and ravines. The beautiful Ebony grove was something special. Lions and Leopard abounded, with Leopards particularly well habituated and photogenic. Night drives were also productive, both for the different animals and reptiles seen but most particularly for the quality of the individual sightings. An excellent camp, well managed by Liz and Garth, nothing was too much trouble, a great place to stay. Old Mondoro Camp was Really, really outstanding. Among the highlights of our game drives were fourteen leopard sightings of nine different leopards in a twenty-four hour period. This included a family of mother, daughter and son who had killed a family of bush pigs (never before seen by us, and only seen a couple of times a year by the guides, what a pity to lose a whole family of such a rare animal!), only for them to lose their supper to a trio of intruder male lions. Night drives were particularly rewarding not only for the variety of wildlife but for their willingness to hold their ground and be photographed, notably civets, porcupines (18), genets, honey badgers as well as leopards and a number of nocturnal birds. I'm not sure how many it was, but we seemed to regularly be meeting Safari Consultants clients. Without you (and your colleagues) South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi would be a much quieter place!
Stephen and Jean from Norwich travelled to Zambia
Everything went well with the trip. Each of the camp managers saw our itinerary and all commented on how well organised it was and how it cut travelling time to a minimum. Safari Consultants clearly has a reputation as a good agent with which to work and has a reputation for having satisfied clients. All the lodges you recommended were outstanding.
David and Pamela from Surrey travelled to Zambia
Hello Bill, this trip to Zambia surpassed our highest hopes, special sightings just kept coming and by the end exceeded anything we had a right to expect. Across all camps we had sightings of eight Leopards, at least as many of Lions, some great Elephant, Hippos and more Giraffe than we have seen anywhere the list just goes on. We also had a really good range of bird viewing, lots of raptors, waders, Bee-eaters, Nightjar again the list just goes on. All the camps were first class with great hospitality, good accommodation and food. The decision to opt for private guiding was more than justified; James Chabuka is an excellent guide and very good company. In Lower Zambezi the tempo of sightings did not slow down. At Old Mondoro we had a brief sighting of Bush Pig, and a daytime sighting of two Porcupine, Lion close to camp and of course many Elephant in camp; again lots of good bird watching and a very good morning walk. Chiawa proved that the best is saved till last. A morning river cruise produced the best bird watching we have had, particularly notable was a Goliath Heron struggling with a large Bream which it eventually managed to swallow, much to our amazement. Once again our thanks for your faultless organisation.
Austin and Di from Derbyshire travelled to Zambia
Hi Michele, many thanks for organizing us another great trip!, we have always wanted to see the Delta and it was great to see…we enjoyed the diversity of the trip and we saw and did a lot in the 2 weeks. We loved the team at Savute and the location of Kanana….and it was great to end at Waterberry Lodge where we saw the falls from both sides…We look forward to our next trip!
Gary and Kat from London travelled to Botswana and Zambia
Good Evening Michele, we would like to thank you for organising such a superb holiday which we are still in complete awe of. So many lasting memories have been created and we have never felt so at peace & relaxed on a holiday before. The whole itinerary ran faultlessly for which we thank you! The camps were superb with excellent guiding, fantastic food & a very high level of service & accommodation. For us you certainly achieved the 'holiday away from humans' and we can't really believe we were there now that we are back to our pressured lives. Our sincerest thanks go out to you Michele along with all of the camp staff who made every moment spectacular. We are of course thinking of what comes next year.....Thank you once again Michele for your hard work & making this a holiday of a lifetime for us!
John and Sharon from Hampshire travelled to Kenya and Zambia
Hello Mary, overall...a great, most enjoyable & successful trip. Arrangements all immaculate with excellent rooms/ guides allocated. Thank you! Highlights...29 leopards in about 22 sightings including family with kill, 2 very close encounters which had adrenalin going and 1 who ran hard at us and we thought he may jump in! Some excellent photos and some of the most memorable encounters with leopards, lions and elephants we have experienced in 20 years+ of safaris. Kuyenda - Excellent! Best camp, best guide/armed ranger (Kelvin & Isaiah), best food and outstanding hosting from Babette & Phil. Attention to detail and simple bush style memorable. Old Mondoro – Great camp and friendly hosts Dave & Tess. Chiawa - Some great spots and encounters. Ruckomechi - Lovely room & setting. Kango - Really good camp, friendly welcome and staff. Good guide Bono who got us so close to pack of 28 Wild Dog under trees. Victoria Falls Hotel - Wonderful and loved our stay! Very attentive staff with some real stars. Very pleased with all your arrangements!
Geoffrey and Teresa from Oxfordshire travelled to Zambia and Zimbabwe
Dear Rob, thank you so much for organising what was a truly fantastic holiday. We have come back with so many great memories. As you told us at the outset, Zambia is a special place, the people are so friendly and the game viewing, particularly at South Luangwa, was amazing. We all had a wonderful break, made all the better by the lack of phone signal and wifi. All the lodges were great and the staff were almost without exception lovely and welcoming. We thought that Mwamba and Old Mondoro were really, really special places to stay. We also thoroughly enjoyed Kaingo and thought that Siankaba was a great spot from which to visit the Falls. The local people and the village there were so welcoming. Things that stood out a little more than all the other great things - The guiding at Kaingo and Mwamba - Sylvester was our guide and he was brilliant. It was also really good to have the same guide through both camps, Mwamba - just being out in the bush miles from anywhere; a true wilderness, Old Mondoro - the setting on the river is really special, Canoeing The Discovery Channel at Old Mondoro and the boat ride down from Chiawa to Old Mondoro. Overall this was a really fantastic break. You have 5 happy customers and we will undoubtedly return to Africa in the future with you.
Andrew, Penelope, Imogen, Henry & George from Essex travelled to Zambia
Dear Rob, I just wanted to say a massive thanks for delivering a great holiday - you fulfilled my brief perfectly, and exceeded all our expectations. All arrangements, transfers and accommodation were like clockwork, no concerns at all. We liked that Elephant Plains and Muchenje arranged for us to have the same guides throughout our stay, as this greatly enhances the relationships and communication. Elephant Plains was a great location, great food & great staff. Morné Fouche our guide was very professional - we loved the drives and game walks with him. Over 3 days we saw 7 different leopard, 4 different rhino and a big herd of buffalo, 800-1000 strong which Morné managed to park just ahead of, then they flowed all around the vehicle for 20-30 mins as they passed, unforgettable. Muchenje - great atmosphere, felt like home from home, fantastic location on the escarpment overlooking the floodplain. We enjoyed the full day out with boat trip, picnic lunch then a game drive back along the Chobe waterfront, with hundreds of elephant, buffalo, zebra & sable. We got a fantastic front row view of a lion hunt by a pride of 10 lions. Waterberry Lodge was a great end to the holiday - fantastic location and good food. We enjoyed the sunset cruise, fishing, hippos on the lawn and bird watching. So relaxing to just chill on the banks of the Zambezi. The visit to the Falls was great. We have great photos and great memories - thank you. We now have lots of ideas for return trips, and will not hesitate to contact you.
Alan, Colette and Michael from Lancashire travelled to South Africa, Zambia & Botswana
Hi Michele, thank you for your letter. We did indeed have a wonderful holiday which more than lived up to our expectations, thank you. We saw everything we could have wished to, several times over. On our transfer drive into Amboseli we saw lions manoeuvring and feeding on a zebra; also there we saw a cheetah and her cubs eating a freshly killed gazelle. On a night drive in Laikipia we sat whilst 14 lions squabbled over a warthog carcass in the light of our headlights. In the Mara we saw a leopard holding fast to a young wildebeest's throat as it died, and then watched her drag it into the undergrowth. As far as individual animal sightings go, we saw an aardwolf (Mara), a zorilla (Laikipia), a wild dog (Amboseli - our guide said it had been a year since he'd seen one); a bush baby (by the light of the camp fire in the Mara). Many thanks again from all of us for organising such an amazing holiday.
The Fawcett family from Solihull travelled to Kenya & Victoria Falls
Hi Rob, a quick note to say a huge thank you for sorting out our trip to Zambia. We had an absolutely wonderful time and now need a holiday to get over it! Action packed non stop and wall to wall sun.
Nigel and Janet from Essex travelled to Zambia
Hello Michele, it is safe to say all went very well indeed, another Michele triumph! Thanks as always for all you did to make it such a great trip. Look forward to speaking next week.
Gerry and Sarah from Buckinghamshire travelled to Botswana and Victoria Falls
Hi Frances, we had the most amazing time, took the helicopter flight over the Victoria Falls, Awesome!! The best camp was Okuti Camp. The staff were amazing. The whole camp had the most wonderful atmosphere because they cared so most about everything. The guides were extremely knowledgeable & informative, especially our guide Solly who specialised in birds. We had the most splendid time, one we won't forget in a hurry.
Denise and Dennis from Wales travelled to Zambia and Botswana
Hello Michele, we want to thank you for organising our extraordinary safari adventure in Southern Africa. Everything that we had planned worked seamlessly and efficiently in all three countries, including eleven airplanes (+helicopter), multiple lodges and hotels over nearly three weeks. We saw and experienced everything we could imagine for Africa and came home exhilarated (and healthy). A special delight were the staff at all the lodges in Botswana, who seemed so happy to meet with us, spend personal time with us, and treated us like honoured family guests. Our game viewing drives covered all manner of terrain and close up encounters with so many animals and birds in their natural surroundings, that we took over 900 photographs combined. The expert and knowledgeable guides soon became new friends. The food and accommodations were first class and individually special everywhere. We were busy the whole time, and the places you chose presented an exotic variety of experiences.
Some additional comments that did not detract from our delightful safari:
* Night game drives with searchlights were OK, but somehow seemed intrusive and not too productive.
* Nights and predawn drives were indeed cold despite hot water bottles, lush bedcovers, and vehicle blankets so we were happy to be there in June not August. We came well prepared with warm clothes, scarves and gloves and needed them on highway game drives - we were surprised how cold those cottages with screens, Kanana and Okuti, were at night and early morning. The low temperature was 0 degrees Centigrade one morning and no higher than 10 degrees on other days.
* Victoria falls was extraordinary but so full of mist that a later date would have been better (my error). The helicopter ride provided an expanded view, but seemed rather expensive.
Again, we congratulate Safari Consultants, for a complex network of arrangements between camps and transport operations that works flawlessly without delays across countries, rivers, airports etc.
We have recommended Safari consultants to all our friends here, and to our families in the UK.
Roger and Jean from California, USA travelled to South Africa, Botswana and Zambia
Dear Rob, we had an amazing time, all of the places we stayed in were excellent and the order was just right. Selinda Camp was our favourite camp – the staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you want. We also loved Footsteps Across the Delta; a peaceful and completely different experience to the rest. You were right that the animals weren't as plentiful as they were in Kenya but we still saw lots of them, even a leopard on one occasion. The bird life in Botswana is incredible too. Thanks again for a wonderful holiday.
Jill and Bernd from London travelled to Botswana and Zambia
Dear Mary, I just wanted to email you to say a huge thank you to you and Safari Consultants for our holiday of a lifetime at the Kicheche Bush Camp and Waterberry Lodge. It all exceeded our expectations and everything went so smoothly. All the organisation was fantastic and all the information given was spot on. We had the most incredible time at both locations and the only downer was coming home, we absolutely loved every aspect of it. Each place was a little piece of paradise and their locations were fabulous, very special. We shall never forget our first safari and trip to Africa and really hope we can go back before too long. We were made to feel very welcome at both locations and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were fantastic and the food, well, was "just out of this world". I'm astounded I didn't put weight on! At Kicheche our guide Jimmy was wonderful and great fun too, we couldn't have asked for better and he did everything he could to make our safaris as best as he could. The hosts at both places were excellent and everyone contributed to making our holiday so memorable and fabulous. I also really appreciated all your advice and help prior to us going. We spoke to many other clients of yours whilst out in Africa and everyone thoroughly recommended yourselves and many were frequent clients of yours who had nothing but praise for yourselves. Many thanks from two very appreciative clients.
Katie and Phil from Hampshire travelled to the Masai Mara, Kenya and Victoria Falls, Zambia
Dear Rob, we had a wonderful holiday. Without exception, we saw some great game in the safari areas and our trip to Livingstone and Cape Town were also most enjoyable. All our transfers went well, flights and representatives all good. Gamewise, we saw it all. From leopards (up a tree having it's lunch), cheetahs, elephants of all ages and sizes, rhino, giraffe, wild dogs (including a brilliant chase ending in a kill), everything. The zebra crossing was mesmerising and there were six lost to crocs. Two wildebeest crossings and lots of lions and cubs. Thanks for organising us another great memory.
Jan and Russell from Suffolk travelled to the Masai Mara in Kenya, Victoria Falls in Zambia, the Selinda Game Reserve and Okavango Delta in Botswana and Cape Town in South Africa
Really enjoyable safari and great camps for seeing a wide variety of wildlife.
Andrew and Clare from Brentwood travelled to Victoria Falls and Botswana
We were introduced to Jane at Safari Consultants by a friend, and thank her wholeheartedly, because they have always arranged fantastic holidays for us, and it is reassuring to leave all planning in their very capable hands, and for me and my husband to relax and enjoy our vacation. We were lucky enough to have a very fast exciting canter with zebra, and a mock charge from an elephant where Gregory stood his ground between us and the elephant to shield us.
Andy and Marie from Norfolk travelled to Zambia and Botswana
Dear Michele, an incredible trip! A few highlights include 5 aardvarks, about 25 leopard sightings including a kill, mating etc. and lions with kill etc, chasing off vultures. Old Mondoro was fabulous as ever.
John and Sophia from London travelled to Zambia
Jane, we thoroughly enjoyed the Zambia and Botswana Ruby Wedding Anniversary safari which you planned so carefully for us. Nothing was too much trouble in helping us to achieve our aim and everything was planned down to the finest detail. All plans worked perfectly. The standard of guiding within Botswana was excellent and the sheer amount of wildlife we saw, particularly at Chobe, was amazing. Although this is our third safari trip, we are both agreed that it has been the best yet. Many, many thanks from us both and here’s to the next time?
Dave and Kath from Suffolk travelled to Victoria Falls and Botswana
Hello Michele, it was one of, it not the best, safari's we have had. You told me that this would be Leopard Central and you were not wrong!
Gerry and Sarah from Buckinghamshire travelled to South Luangwa National Park, Zambia
Kaya Mawa was as good as promised. We had a beautiful room. The food was first class. The service excellent and friendly. We had a very relaxing week diving, walking, canoeing and reading. We were very happy in the North and South Luanwga. We tended to walk in the mornings and simply watch in the afternoons either from our hut or from the river bank after a short walk. The Chikoko and Crocodile bush camps in the South Luangwa were both charming and comfortable. Thank you Mary for arranging this for us.
Christopher and Alison from London travelled to Malawi and Zambia
Hi Rob, regarding game viewing, it was a great experience, very different from Kenya. The possibility of such close encounters was amazing. The guides were all very competent. Among the highlights, the high number of leopards seen but most of all, the group of wild dogs that we saw in both areas. All lodges and camps were very good.
Cristiano and Valentina from Italy travelled to South Africa and Zambia
Tafika accommodation and staff were fantastic - our hut was on the river bank with beautiful views. Walking safari was excellent –they will take you out for 4-5 hrs if you are up to it, brilliant not seeing any other traffic/walkers whilst we were out. Food excellent, game drives good and microlite flight was amazing. Chindeni in a beautiful spot on the lagoon - we had fantastic accommodation, right on lagoon and our tent was by itself - not overlooked at all - nice interior and outside hammock! Food brilliant, hospitality amazing, safari walks were fantastic and drives were excellent. Very relaxed and informal but well run, again, we didn't see other jeeps whilst out in the evenings. Zambia is a beautiful country and somehow felt more "WILD" and natural than some other regions in Africa (although all are fantastic as far as I am concerned)! Loved our stay on Likoma Island. Lake swimming excellent - lots of activities on offer without spoiling the feeling of peace and quiet. You gave us an amazing and very memorable trip to Africa. Thank you.
Hywel and Judith travelled to South Luangwa National Park in Zambia and Lake Malawi
Hi Mary. Overall, it was the most amazing adventure. The start of our trip at Kanana was incredible. We did every activity available to us at every available opportunity. The inner Okavango Delta was so beautiful and we could easily have spent our entire trip there. Then we come to the camping part. Thank you so much for listening and understanding our needs as this was exactly what we were looking for... and so much more. At Third Bridge, you had to hardly leave camp to see all of the game. We saw two cheetahs, a pack of 9 wild dogs on multiple occasions and lions. The highlight of the game viewing was watching wild dogs chase off a young male lion as it had eyes on their kill, closely followed by watching wild dogs hunt for impala. Amazing. At Savuti camp, we got our first leopard spot. It was right next to the road relaxing under a tree. Such a beautiful animal. The landscape at Savuti was tailor made for viewing cats, especially down by the marsh. So different to anywhere else we have been. We managed to spot a pride of lions here, 5 in total with a Zebra kill. The long drive to Linyanti was totally worth it. Such a beautiful remote part of Chobe. At Waterberry, the setting was beautiful and we enjoyed a nice sundowner cruise along the Zambezi on our first night. Our full day in Zambia was obviously spent at the falls and we loved it. We took a Huey helicopter ride over the falls which words can't describe how amazing it was. I even did a bungee jump of the bridge too! Thank you once again for all of your help planning this, we will certainly be in touch again at some point in the future.
David and Kirsten from Tyne and Wear travelled to Botswana and Victoria Falls on a self-driving camping trip
Hi Rob, we had an amazing trip. Everyday was super!! And all of the arrangements were smooth and worry free.
John and Susan, and their daughters Lauren and Rachel from Maryland, USA travelled to South Africa and Victoria Falls, Zambia
Everything was absolutely fantastic on our trip. All the camps were fantastic and we had such an incredible and special time. Thank you!
Ben and Philippa from Perth, Australia, travelled to South Africa, Zambia and Botswana on their honeymoon
Hello, Rob. We had another hugely enjoyable holiday with just the right sequence of camps..Old Mondoro was the cherry on the cake, a wonderful finale. The accommodation in all four lodges was aesthetically pleasing and very comfortable; the staff were welcoming and the guides excellent. Food everywhere was ample and tasty/delicious. All our ornithological needs were more than catered for by our exceptional guide at Kaingo, Andrew, (probably the best we've ever had). We loved Old Mondoro and would return every year if we could. We had a very good guide, Wallace, who really knew his birds and we had some excellent game drives and boat trips with him. All the staff were extremely pleasant and obliging. We had elephants in the camp now and then and breakfast on our last morning was interrupted by a quick dash in a vehicle to view three lions passing through.
John and Jennifer from Berkshire travelled to Kafue, South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi National Parks in Zambia
Hi Rob, we had a fantastic trip. Livingstone has been spruced up slightly since our last visit. The Falls were magnificent, best we have ever seen them. I would recommend this time of year to anyone who wants to see the falls. Islands of Siankaba was the best we've ever seen the place. The food was fantastic, the staff are all great, I can't say enough about how pleasant, friendly and obliging all of the staff were. Kwando Lagoon - WOW - was as good as most of the camps I have been to in Botswana. The tented thatched rooms were enormous, the biggest rooms of any lodge I have ever stayed in. We all had a great time on each part of our trip, I was so glad to visit Africa again, Cara got so much out of the trip and best of all wants to go back!
Martyn, Jayne and their daughter Cara from Leicester travelled to Zambia and Botswana
Dear Rob, just to let you know we are safely back after a great holiday. All arrangements went beautifully and all lodges were excellent with good food and friendly staff. Overall, we were very happy with our holiday even though animal viewing in Botswana was not as good as Kenya and East Africa. However, we had a good balance of interesting birds and animals, which is what we wanted. We would definitely recommend all lodges and all your arrangements and connections worked extremely well – no hitches at all. So thank you for organising such a good holiday for us and we will definitely pass on our recommendation to use Safari Consultants in the future and would definitely use you again for trips to Africa! I'll do a more detailed report of various experiences later, but just want to say thank you for organising the trip which was a great success!
Anthony and Barbara from Kent travelled to see Victoria Falls and northern Botswana
October / November 2013
Dear Rob, firstly thank you for once again putting together a marvellous holiday for Emma and I. We had a fabulous time. You had advised that it would be hot – but we had not realized quite how hot. It reached 43c at Jeki the day we arrived at the airport! Kaingo and Tafika both offered re-hydration salts which was much appreciated. KAINGO is an excellent camp. It sure does work you hard with three activities a day, but we would not have missed the elephant, Carmen bee-eater, hippo hides, for anything. Game viewing was superb and the guides knowledgeable and helpful. TAFIKA is a very comfortable camp, our ‘family’ room perfect in an idyllic position. It is very much the Coppinger family home and they are not very good at telling you all about their additional benefits e.g. the hide on the edge of camp or more importantly the Carmine bee-eater hide which was superb (we only found out about it from another guest). Its position is at an angle to the bank where the birds are nesting so they are flying all around you. Please tell Mary that I did go on the microlight which was – as she said it was – amazing. OLD MONDORO – was everything you said it would be. We loved it. Old Mondoro had the happiest atmosphere of the three camps we visited and we suspect this is very much down to the superb managers Jason and Michaela. Fabulous game viewing – including an aardvark. We went out with all three of their guides Levy, James and Sebastian who were really knowledgeable and keen to find what we were interested in, in particular leopard, and at which they were successful. Thank you Rob for all you did to put together such a wonderful trip. The level of accommodation was perfect for us, the game viewing fascinating and it was lovely not being surrounded by loads of other vehicles. All in all it lived up to all our expectations and I’m now happily going through more than 2,000 photographs of a fabulous ten days.
Charlotte and Emma from Suffolk (and London) travelled to South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi in Zambia
Hi Mary, The holiday was amazing. You did so well - everything was perfect and went like clock work. We saw some wonderful sights and stayed in amazing places. Waterberry - well what can you say. Such lovely people. Nothing was too much trouble. Winchester Mansions - what a lovely hotel, really quirky. The people were so nice everywhere we went. I would recommend all of them. We had fantastic views in all the places we stayed in. Lavender Manor - the whales were unbelievable we didn't expect to see them so close. The rooms were lovely. Candlewood Lodge - we had fantastic views and again the rooms were lovely. The owners were very nice too. Knysna was a lovely area. Kichaka Game Lodge - that was amazing. We saw lots of animals and saw hippos and elephants from our room. Those rooms are amazing. Again the people were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The game drives were brilliant. We would love to go back to Africa again one day and will certainly be in contact when we do. Thank you again so much Mary, you made our holiday very special.
Tony and Tina from Hampshire travelled to Zambia and South Africa
Rob, back in the mad world after three weeks in paradise! Great trip in every way. Kaingu was superb and Busanga Plains were definitely worth a visit (including a balloon ride); Chamilandu was superb and game sightings excellent. Mumbo Island was just wonderful (surprisingly, one of the highlights of the trip); then we had a good time at Mvuu before Huntingdon House (maybe an acquired taste and not quite what we were expecting but nevertheless worthwhile) then finishing up at Makulamadzi in Majete – a fab camp/lodge; great hosts and good guiding. Thanks again for getting our trip absolutely spot on!!
Peter and Anne from Cambridgeshire travelled to Zambia and Malawi
Dear Mary, Shona and I had a wonderful safari in Zambia and thank you for your help in organising it all. Safari Consultants have been excellent. On the camps, we started at Kaingo and saw good game throughout. There was, however, a disconnect between the ownership and the running of the camp. Whilst we would exempt the excellent Yvonne we felt that standards were perhaps just not quite as high as if the owners of the enterprise were more visibly committed. Tafika by contrast embodied these aspects in spades. One couldn’t help but be enthused by the care and commitment of John, Carol and Jenny Coppinger and by the way this fed through to their on-site management and staff. The selection of game at Tafika was also excellent. Chiawa was both stylish and professionally run. Game viewing was perhaps a little light but following South Luangwa was always going to be hard in that respect. All three camps offered exciting extras – hides, air and water activities –and the standard of food was remarkable. Anyway as I said we had a wonderful safari and hope that the comments above are helpful to you as you advise other guests.

Dear Michele - many thanks for organising our trip to Zambia, we both think the quantity and sheer variety of game this trip was the best ever (list too long to include!). At Tafika we witnessed a pack of 19 Wild Dog and pups playing and enjoying life - a highlight of our stay there, as well as the microlight flight and village visit. However, the trip just got better and better by the day (and hotter and hotter). Everyone at Chamilandu, Kuyenda (MAGIC) and Mfuwe Lodge, without exception was helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic and the game glorious and plentiful. We loved it - thanks again.

Dear Safari Consultants team, we returned home today, and Sylvia has already rung to leave special thanks to Mary for arranging our wonderful trip. Everything worked flawlessly (except when I managed to leave a bag behind - see separate email thanking those who remedied the situation for me). The locations were all excellent and there were none that we left without regret, whilst also of course looking forward to the next. The guides and camp teams were all impressive. We have returned with unforgettable memories, many close-up photographs to review, many ticks in the bird book, recollections of many pleasant acquaintances met, and a fondness for Botswana in particular. As intended, once in Zambia we considered ourselves off safari, although the bird walk at Waterberry topped up our bird list considerably. The Victoria Falls from Livingstone Island experience, even at low water, was marvellous. Thank you once again for arranging such a superb experience for us.

Mary, just wanted to say thank you so so so so so so so much for an utterly stunning 19 days. The precision and care you took was so obvious and so brilliant - from the way the hire cars were delivered - to the middle of the nowhere - to the awesome two man plane - to the brilliant lodges. Just back - on our tube going home - and had to say an immediate and vociferous THANK YOU.

Hi Mary just got back from our wonderful holiday and wanted to thank you for all you have done to make this holiday special. Everything went like clockwork, no problems with air transfers or hire cars, everyone and everything had been arranged superbly, all of the accommodation first class. We could not have wished for a better time. We loved Zambia and South Africa and will hopefully return someday. I will be letting everyone know about you and Safari Consultants as we have been very impressed throughout. Thank you again.
